When water boy met fire girl.
Best romance movie of all time.
They should have just made a fire boy and water girl film
By Pixar standards I thought the animation was really bad but my friend I saw it with thought it was good, I just didn’t like any of the characters designs, thought it looked weird. I feel like I love Pixar films coz they are really good at creating memorable and iconic characters and this didn’t really have that, the characters and overall story of the film I thought was kinda mid and forgettable.
I was lying about it being the best romance of all time but maybe the best animated romance film I dunno. Not including anime coz there’s some incredible anime romance films but this was a good romance for a kids film, was kinda like Romeo and Juliet but fire and water.
Honestly I did like this film despite my issues with it, some of the themes and messages it covers are done in a really nice way and I do think the writing was quite good. It’s a really interesting way to tell a story about a family that I’m sure a lot of people can relate to. They came from another place and set up a new life for their daughter and because of the sacrifices they made the daughter feels pressure to continue their dreams rather than focus on her own. Was a really nice story and did have me tearing up a little at the end when she bows to him. I didn’t love all the characters but the family dynamic was quite emotional and I really enjoyed it.
Was a weird one because I do think it’s a really good film, but it doesn’t have likable or memorable characters or a memorable plot but it still had a lot of emotional depth so I actually do kinda like it a lot.
Did a double bill of this and ruby gillmore in Crawley with Jenifer, enjoyed them both, was a fun day. Had to get a train but was worth it for gillmore girl kraken film.
7.7/10
