In 1979, a group of college students find a Sumerian Book of the Dead in an old wilderness cabin they've rented for a weekend getaway.

Very fun film, it was a little boring being all set in that cabin, but the army of darkness or evil dead or whatever they are called were very cool. They seem pretty generic but were done in such a cool way they really elevate the film. Wasn’t really scary at all but I liked all the blood and I liked the creepy stop motion at the end.
Also there’s some great cinematography in there, especially towards the end there’s a scene or two that has pretty consistently amazing shots back to back. Cool to finally see where the absolute legend Sam Raimi got his start.
Should have seen this ages ago but I don’t like horror films. Or I didn’t like them I think I am changing my mind.
