Nathan for You: Finding Frances 2017

Nathan for you is amazing. Actually incredible. I think Nathan Fielder may be my favourite comedian ever. He is a genius. This film is everything that’s great about the show, with a little less comedy, but all the emotional and real moments. I think that why it’s so amazing, because it feels so real, it feels so real that we don’t even know if Nathan is acting at some points or just being himself, which is something I think the film gets into a little.  This film is about a bill gates impersonator, a regular old guy who has a wish. This guy is deeply flawed, there’s some bad stuff he does that could easily have been removed from this for the sake of keeping him as a character more likeable. Yet this film is just so raw, it keeps in all the imperfections with the people, making everything feel like you are experiencing something real and beautiful. Honestly I would love to make something even close to this level as a film maker one day, it’s brilliant and I’ve never seen anything like it before.  8.6/10
