Drowning in Potential 2021

Drowning in potential is also a really good title. 3rd Joel Haver film. Starting dax flame, the guy that went to school as superman, the guy from 21 jump street and project X who had a documentary about himself called ice cream man made by the youtuber Idubbz. I didn’t expect him to be a good actor, he’s too awkward, but in this his character is awkward and he plays it as himself, which is perfect. He also plays a struggling actor which I guess he also kinda is in real life which makes the film feel so genuine. I just think he’s a really interesting guy and his acting was great in this. I kinda relate a lot to his awkwardness and passion for creating things. Also Alex Ernst is in this who I genuinely think is a good actor and a really funny guy. some of his videos are really good but most people may know him as he was a famous vine star and the roommate of the youtuber David Dobrik.  Joel haver plays each of his characters so differently, there are similarities but considering how much improv he does I find the fact he’s not playing the same character in every film kind impressive.  Probably my least favourite of his films, but some of the shots looked amazing and the acting was good.  6.7/10
