Bed 2019

Calling up work sick and trying to make urself sound sick is super relatable. Even when I’m sick but in ways that don’t affect my voice I have to try and make my voice sound sick so they don’t think I’m lying. This film was very, natural and real. It’s about two very normal people lying in bed.  Recently I’ve been trying to write a film all set in one location, this did that very well and it was pretty inspiring for me, even though I didn’t love it I sent it to my friend that I write films with and told him to watch it. I find any film able to keep your attention for an hour when it’s just 2 people lying in bed is pretty impressive. I really enjoy films like this. Like 12 angry men, 127 hours and reservoir dogs, especially with my incredibly short attention span, any film that is able to do this and keep your attention because of how good it is I really appreciate. For this film it was the dialogue that kept it engaging, it was very natural and interesting, the main thing I didn’t like about it were the characters, the girl was ok but the guy was really annoying, his voice kinda pissed me off at times. Though the film was directed by the actor and based on his novella so he is very talented. Also I’m not saying the acting was bad, like I said it felt very natural, just his voice. Also they were both kinda annoying as characters but they still felt real so it’s fine.  In their argument I really get where the guy is coming from, talking about what they dislike about each other and starting an argument is a bad idea, but he’s such a dick about it, disregarding all her feelings. He acted like a child and never stopped talking, even if it meant he was just repeating himself. They were both in the right and both in the wrong and it made it a little difficult to watch. They just kinda feel like they shouldn’t be together. She deserves better.  Sweet ending tho. Ok ima stop procrastinating from my uni work now. It’s 2pm so I should probably get out of “bed” 6.5/10
